Wellness with Rehab
Rehabilitative exercise is a key component at Wellness Chiropractic to enhance the care your Doctor provides. It is important to remember that many of the conditions, which may have brought you to our office, have developed over many years. Establishing a thorough movement pattern assessment will help understand your specific strengths and weaknesses and will allow your care to be as effective as possible. With this assessment we can move forward with a multitude of tools and skilled work to improve your bodies balance.
Low Level Laser Therapy or Photobiomodulation is a treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light to interact with tissue and is thought to help accelerate the healing process. It can be used on patients who suffer from a variety of acute and chronic conditions in order to help eliminate pain, swelling, reduce spasms and increase functionality.
Soft tissue work is an important process to loosen up fascia and scar tissue termed adhesions. We use a variety of methods to support this healing process. Instrumented assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) and our Rapid Release Technique will provide you with specific tissue release in a relatively short amount of time.
After the tissue is pliable and ready to function correctly, we can start a stability exercise and stretching program for you. It’s important to understand that rehabilitative exercise is different than working out at home or in a gym or fitness class. Properly applied and performed rehabilitative exercise works to restore both the nervous and musculoskeletal systems by helping your body “learn new movement patterns”. We often overuse certain muscles in our daily work and movement and under use other more supporting muscles. It’s like building a house without a strong foundation to support its structure.
Your exercise program will be designed just for you to help you counteract the daily stresses you may be putting on your body either from repetitive work patterns or recreational activities. Specific stretches and strengthening exercises target the imbalanced muscles so that the original condition which brought you to our office is less likely to recur.
As part of our wellness care program you will learn how to integrate simple movements into your every day life to help counteract the stresses that are placed upon your body. Let's assist you in maintaining your health so you enjoy life at its fullest.
